Gifts for Moms, Friends & Yourself

[Gifts for mom, special girlfriends, or yourself can go a long way in bringing joy and lifting spirits.]
Today, I received a basket of flowers from my husband. It’s not my birthday, or anniversary or even Mother’s Day. It’s May Day. A “made-up” day for giving May baskets that I have loved since I was a child. He knows me.
This simple gift lifted my spirits so much. It’s hard to say why. Maybe it’s because I know he’s thinking about me. Maybe it’s the childhood memories. Maybe, it’s the pure beauty of the flowers on this spring day. Regardless, these flowers have done a lot for my mental health.
Three times in the last couple of months, I have sent pansies to friends – just because. It’s something I can do from afar, and I know the gift will bring some unexpected joy into their days.
During this season of uncertainty, where holidays and gatherings look a little different than they did before, it’s more important than ever to let the women in our lives know that we are thinking of them, we appreciate and love them, and we are here for them.

Whether it’s your mom or a girlfriend you adore, take a minute to tell her she’s special and celebrate the woman she is to you. Until you can get together in person again, give her a gift to remind her of you and the love you share. During these days of isolation, a small gift can go a long way to lifting her spirits and brighten her day.

A little self-care in the form of a small gift is perfectly justified these days as well. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive, but who knows you better than you? It will be the perfect gift every time.
Money is tight for a lot of people who are out of work these days. You don’t have to break the bank or risk anyone’s health to add a little joy to someone’s life in the form of a gift. Cards or letters in the mail with a personal message are treasures. Time spent outdoors on a long, leisurely walk or with a good book can go a long way in boosting our spirits (and our vitamin D!)
If you are an Amazon Prime member, shipping is free, and they will deliver a gift right to her doorstep. Florists are also delivering quickly these days. Ordering take-out as a treat for yourself or a friend is especially welcomed during these days of endless dishes and cooking! (And the smaller, local florists and restaurants would appreciate your business these days.)
If Amazon is your jam, we’ve put together some gifts we think you might like. From recommended books and devotionals, flowers (who knew Amazon had flowers!) to just cute girlfriend gifts that anyone would love to have.
Take a look at the list we’ve put together, and make someone’s day (or your own) a little brighter.
